Audi A2 successor will be electric cars

The second generation car Audi A2, which is present in 2012, initially will be available exclusively with an electric motor, according to Autocar. Thus, Audi intends to prepare a rival electric car BMW Megacity, sales will begin in 2013. Later joined by electric version of petrol and diesel versions. Previously reported that the A2 will have the same four-cylinder engines that are installed on the model A1. According to preliminary information, the new A2 will receive a steel body construction, not aluminum, as the first generation car. In this new appearance will be performed in a similar style to its predecessor. A2 in size becomes a little more minicar VW Up! and hatchback Audi A1. Production of the first generation of Audi A2 started in 1999 but in 2005 Audi management has decided to stop production of the model due to low demand. A2 was too expensive to maintain and repair - especially in case of damage to body panels made of aluminum. In the six years of A2 was sold just over 175 000 vehicles.
