"Charged" version of the hatchback Audi A1 will be shown in October

Audi is planning to hold at the international Motor Show in Paris, which will be held from 2 to 17 October this year, a presentation of "charged" versions of compact hatchback A1 with the index "S". Car sales on the European market will begin six months after its debut. New products will be built on the PQ25 platform Concern Volkswagen, which is already used for the Skoda Fabia, as well as for VW Polo and Seat Ibiza last generation. In the engine compartment of the smallest "charged" Audi hatchback will be positioned 1.4-liter turbocharged engine with 180 horsepower, working together with the seven robotic gearbox S-Tronic dual clutch. As previously reported, Audi S1 ??having a system full of drive, but according to magazine Autocar, the car will be the first in a line of "charged" cars of the company, equipped with only front wheel drive. As reported earlier Audi board member for technical development, Michael Dick, from zero to hundred kilometers per hour will drive hatchback S1 less than seven seconds, while its top speed of 225 kilometers per hour. Premiere usual Audi A1 will be held in March at the Geneva Motor Show. First, the German company plans to release its three-door version of the model in 2011 - a five-door Sportback, and by 2012 - with a soft convertible folding top. Initially, the novelty will be offered on the European market with two petrol engines of 1.2 and 1.4 liters and output of 85 and 122 horsepower respectively, and with 1.2, 1.6 - and 2.0-liter diesel engine. Audi is planning to collect a hatchback A1, which will compete with cars MINI, in an amount of 80-100 thousand copies a year. According to some estimates, prices for the base version of A1 will begin with a mark of 15 thousand euro.
