At the Frankfurt Motor Show, Audi held its first official premiere SUV Audi Q7. This seven-seater, as we reported, is based on a lengthened chassis model VW Touareg, and will be equipped with powerful motors only. In particular, the Q7 will be initially available in two versions, the latest three-liter turbodiesel that meets environmental standards Euro 4 and a maximum torque of 500Nm is reached, and a new eight-cylinder engine of 4.2-liter engine with direct fuel injection and a power of 350 horsepower. It is also worth noting that the Audi Q7 is equipped with its own permanent all-wheel drive quattro, which is traditionally used differential Torsen. In addition, new features and more advanced stability control system that helps drivers on slippery surfaces and even off-road. The new SUV is available with a conventional spring suspension, and adaptive air suspension, which modes are controlled by the driver. However, Audi is not limited to the premiere of the base versions of Q7. In Frankfurt, this German brand has brought more and experimental prototype, equipped with a hybrid power plant. It uses a V8 petrol engine with direct fuel injection, the same as for the top version Q7, as well as a compact electric motor 32kVt. The hybrid system has three modes: only gasoline engine (when driving at high speeds), only the electric motor (when driving in traffic and at the beginning of the movement), as well as mixed mode, which is used for rapid acceleration. As a result, from zero to hundred kilometers per hour in a hybrid Q7 wins back its petrol equivalent of 0.6 seconds, but it consumes significantly less fuel and has a reduced content of harmful substances in exhaust gases. It is not excluded that such a system soon will be in mass production. In addition, it can be used just for a hybrid version of the SUV Porsche Cayenne.
