Pikes Peak - in the series?

It is known that Audi has plans to launch SUV in mass production, the prototype of which was shown at the Auto Show in Detroit in January of this year. It is expected that rival BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz M-Class and Porsche Cayenne show in 2005, but sales will begin in 2006. Although the Volkswagen-Audi group already has in the asset SUV Touareg, Audi novelty of it should not be a competitor because of its large size and more luxury equipment. At the same time, the machine will have common elements - such as air suspension. Like Pikes Peak, the car will have three seats, making the car very attractive to American buyers. At this time there are no plans to promote the use of aluminum alloys, as in the Audi A8. As for powertrains, it will be very wide: 3.2 -, 4,2 - and 5-liter gasoline, as well as 3 - and 4-liter diesel powertrains. As will be called exactly the car is still unknown. Perhaps the name will remain Pikes Peak, but most likely the car will be called A7. But this Audi plans on entering the market are not limited to all-wheel drive. Plan to release a four-wheel drive car based on Audi A3 - the answer to BMW X3.
