Audi cars will be eight-"machine" ZF

German automaker Audi is planning to install on their top models a new eight-speed automatic transmissions of ZF, which is due to start production next year. On it informs network edition Motorauthority.com citing sources familiar with the situation. What kind of Audi cars will be equipped with the new ZF transmission is not yet known, but in an interview with Automotive News Europe analyst at research firm CSM Worldwide reported that such transmission is likely to appear on the flagship sedan A8, Q7 SUV and the "four-door coupe" A7, appearance which the market is expected in 2009. Recall that the new eight-"machine", according to company representatives ZF, will help in comparison with five-speed gearbox to improve vehicle fuel efficiency by an average of 14 percent. PPC also supports the automatic stop and start the engine, are used to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and fuel economy. It is worth noting that BMW is also going to use the same gearbox for the sedan 7-Series and next-generation crossover X6. Will there be a similar eight-transmission to offer their cars for another German automaker - Mercedes-Benz - has not yet specified.
