Audi abandons its all wheel drive

On Thursday, Audi has announced that from next year will see a new all-wheel drive quattro, the website Motor Authority. Instead of a center differential Torsen, which Audi uses for nearly 20 years, the SUVs will be installed electronic-hydraulic multi-plate stspelenie. Audi refuses Torsen primarily due to the fact that these machines are prone to severe understeer. The new system will be able to transfer torque not only between the front and rear axles but also between the rear wheels. Work it will be under the control electronics, which monitors the acceleration, speed, angle of rotation of the wheels and other parameters of the car. Quattro a new generation will operate in several modes - "comfort", "auto" and "dynamic", where the first is the most secure, and the last - the most "drayverskogo." Note that this system is similar to the constructive electronic clutch Haldex, which is used instead of the Torsen center differential to cars Audi A3.
