On Wednesday, Audi extended the first official teaser photo and some information about its new model - A5 Sportback, which the representatives of the German brand called "five-door coupe." The car will appear in the European market for sale in September this year and will be the third modification of the "fifth" family, joining the coupe and convertible. Compared with the Audi A4 sedan novelty will be a 36 mm shorter, gets shorter overhangs front and rear doors with frameless windows and lengthened to two millimeters (up to 2810 mm) wheelbase. The luggage compartment with raised rear seats is 480 liters, which is only 10 liters less than the wagon A4. When folded second-row seats usable space will increase to 980 liters. Initially, the model for A5 Sportback will be offered with two petrol engines - a two-liter turbo power of 211 horsepower and 265-strong "six" in volume of 3.2 liters, which will be available for the car, along with the company's all-wheel drive quattro. In the line of diesel engines will aggregates volume of 2.0, 2.7 and 3.0 liter capacity of 170 (350 Nm), 190 (400 Nm) and 240 (500 Nm) horsepower, respectively. According to the Audi, some time after the start of sales of "five-door coupe" will appear in a range of versions with less powerful engines. What exactly - was not specified, however, the assumptions of some foreign publications, in line the company added 1.8 - and 2.0-liter TFSI gasoline engines with 160 and 180 horsepower respectively. In Germany the price of Audi A5 Sportback will start from 36 000 EUR 50 (for the version with two-liter diesel engine and a six-step "mechanics"). More accessible vehicle modifications appear in mid-2010.
