Audi prepares the upgraded S-tronic gearbox with two clutches

Audi has plans to soon begin to equip their cars modernized version of the robotic gearbox with two clutches S-tronic (DSG analogue of VW). It is reported by German magazine Auto Motor und Sport, with reference to the statement by representatives of the brand. Enhanced S-tronic gearbox will be a seven (in the current six assists) and will be able to "digest" the maximum torque to 550 Nm. It is worth noting that the current version of the gearbox, "coping" with only 320 Nm of torque, designed for transverse installation of motors and can operate with all-wheel drive only with a clutch Haldex. The new S-tronic able to be aggregated with longitudinally installed engines and will be available for models with quattro all-wheel drive and differential Torsen. It is expected that the debut of new powertrain will be held at the crossover Q5, which the German automaker was planning to present at one of the international automobile show this year. Later upgraded S-tronic gearbox will also receive a family car the A4 and A5.
