Audi has extended the official information about lightweight, and most powerful versions of open supercar R8 - GT Spyder. In May last year and got a similar version of the car with a body "coupe", but all these cars are already sold out. The technology, as well as the machine with a fixed roof, will be released in limited edition of 333 copies. Weight roadster reduced by 85 pounds - up to 1,640 pounds. Such a measure has been achieved through the use of engine sub-frame, made of ultra light magnesium, as well as the rear body panels, front and rear spoilers, rear bumper and engine compartment lid made of carbon fiber reinforced polymer. Together, these elements are allowed to lose 5.5 pounds. In addition, the car's weight was reduced by upgrading brakes, installation of lighter wheels and other seats that have helped to throw another 31.5 pounds. Novelty is equipped with ten-cylinder engine with 5.2 liters and output of 560 horsepower, which is paired with a six-speed robotized gear box R-tronic. According to the manufacturer, from zero to hundred kilometers per hour this roadster can accelerate in 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 317 kilometers per hour. Soft roof roadster can be folded for 19 seconds, and this operation can be performed at speeds up to 50 miles per hour. Audi R8 GT also got powerful brakes with carbon-ceramic discs, stabilization system with sport mode and the ability to turn it off completely, and 19-inch alloy wheels with 235/35 tires in the dimension of the front and 295/30 rear. In Germany, the cost of the new supercar will be 207 000 800 euros.
