Audi has completed work on an entirely new generation of hatchback Audi A3, which premieres already scheduled for next spring at the Geneva motor show. The novelty is expected to get a new car, new suspension and a set of advanced and powerful engines. Despite the fact that the body of the novelty was developed virtually "from scratch", Audi designers have retained the familiar proportions of the body and its silhouette, with a somewhat rounded car and making it more like the older models Audi A4 and A6. In the style of the older models made hatchback design front end and rear end, with the greatest similarity to the form of front and rear. It is also worth noting that the new generation Audi A3 will have a slightly larger size, by increasing the body overhang, which positively affected the amount of free space in the cabin. In general, the new design will be implemented in a more aggressive and sporty style that meets global strategy group Volkswagen. In addition to the new body, the car will receive a new electrohydraulic suspension and, on the design similar to the VW Polo. At the same time, according to the publication Auto Motor und Sport, the rear suspension is multilink new items, indicating that the orientation of the developers to pinpoint handling and a sports car's behavior in general. According to preliminary information, the new Audi A3 are four petrol engines - a 1.6 - and 2-liter engine with direct fuel injection, power 116 and 150 horsepower respectively, and the known volume of 1.8 turbo - and two liters. They added more and more turbo diesel, as already used on other models of Volkswagen. Note also that sales of new generation Audi A3 will appear in 2003. A year after that, as expected, will be "charged" version of the hatchback, which by tradition will be named Audi S3 and will be equipped with 240-horsepower 3.2-liter engine.
